Everspry Intellignet Shoeprint Scanner (EverISS) entered the market in 2022. This new system has been specifically designed for scanning latent crime scene shoeprints. The resolution of shoeprint image scanned by EverISS reaches 1200 DPI, which is considered a high resolution best suitable for expert analysis and authentication. EverISS can be used to scan visible shoeprints, ones visible by the naked eye in natural light, as well as latent shoeprints, ones visible under a shoeprint light source. Sometimes, even latent shoeprint cannot be seen under a shoeprint light source on a complex surface.
For comparison, here are the shoeprint images taken by camera and EverISS.
